kahwin atau sambung belajar?

dilemma sungguh la bila umur dah mencapai 20-an ni..ye la still muda lagi untuk fikir soal kahwin bagai but kata orang kena la fikir masa depan. takkan nak ikut flow je kan? diploma tinggal 1 sem setengah lagi lepas habis diploma kena kerja dulu 4 tahun kontrak dengan KKM. so kononnya la start keje umur 22, tambah 4 dah jadi 26. bila umur 26 baru boleh nak sambung belajar, kahwin? itu le masalahnya.

nak kahwin atau sambung belajar dulu? sungguh dilemma. kalau kawin peratusan untuk sambung belajar memang tersangatlah tidak cerah sebab ada banyak komitmen. isteri anak semua..dah la kos aku ni tak boleh nak part time sebab critical kos. so kena full time. ok cerita pasal nak sambung belajar ni dengan pointer nyawa-nyawa ikan tak sure la dpt tak nak further kt ipta kat malaysia sebab dia punya minimun reguirement tersangat tinggi..at least 3.5++ so memang melepas dah chance tu.

So the only option is further kt indon. then again kalau dah kawin then nak sambung kat indon, agak2 boleh? nak angkut wife skali? ke nak PJJ(perkahwinan jarak jauh) sanggup ke bang? again aku buntu..dah la kalau nak sambung blaja kt indon kena la support sendiri. masa tu mana nak cekau duit kalau nak angkut bini sekali? takkan nak suh bini support..

kalau sambung belajar dulu, at least 4 tahun la sambung degree-kalau ada rezeki umur 30 baru dapat degree and at that time tak ke macam dah berumur? umur tu tak kisah la but then boleh ke tahan nafsu nak tunggu umur 30? erkk…

all people around me keep remind me about this. bila la nak kahwin, ish macam mana nak sambung degree,aduh nak kawin ke nak sambung belajar..that’s the question that drag me to this dilemma.

and this dilemma keep hunting me dan semasa entri ini ditulis-ianya masih menghantui diriku

No More Floods In Setiu

The village's evacuation centre had also been closed, the state's flood information portal said.

Having Problems in Quiting Smoking? There's A Way

This is the second of three articles on the issues related to smokers and smoking. It is about the experiences of hardcore smokers. as related to the National Heart Institute's (IJN) Quit smoking Clinic.

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 13 (Bernama) -- Excuses like "Its tough, I cannot do it" and "If I stop, my weight will shoot up" are usually given by hardcore smokers when they are told to quit the habit.

Admittedly, quitting smoking is difficult but it is not impossible.

The experience was shared by several clients of National Heart Institute (IJN) Quit Smoking Clinic at its Quit Smoking Support session held here recently.

Most of the clients at the clinic used to be hardcore smokers between 30 and 40 years old.

CIGARETTES WERE CHEAPER THEN

Kali, who smoked for more 45 years, managed to kick the habit more than two years ago.

Now in his 70s, Kali revealed that he began smoking when he was 25, after a friend coaxed him to try a cigarette during a trip to Port Dickson in Negeri Sembilan.

He started with only several cigarettes a day and moved on to 50-60 before calling it quits.

"When I first started, the price (of cigarettes) was cheap. A packet of 10 in the 1960s was only 30 to 40 sen. Now a packet of 20 costs RM10," said Kali, who lost his wife to breast cancer 12 years ago.

LONELINESS

Loneliness forced the government pensioner to seek solace in smoking, to the extent that he ran out of money. Despite staying with his son and daughter-in-law, he refused to ask them for money.

He used his pension to buy cigarettes, and in a month, Kali spent RM500-RM600 to purchase cigarettes.

The urge to kick the habit came after Kali took part in the World Day without Smoking programme organised by the IJN, and later he joined IJN's Quit Smoking Clinic.

Despite not having chronic illness except for bad coughs, Kali was bent on quitting smoking.

He admits that in the early stages the task was difficult, but he persisted.

"The counsellor at the IJN clinic helped me a lot and I have not smoked for more than two years. (Today) I can control myself," he said.

DIFFICULT BUT POSSIBLE

Mohamad Lofti, 62, who started smoking at the age of 12, said the addiction to tobacco made him unsatisfied with the usual type of cigarettes and he resorted to smoking a pipe or a type of clove cigarettes known as Gudang Garam.

Lofti said he tried to quit smoking two years ago and took a medicine to cure his addiction for tobacco but succumbed to the urge to smoke when he attended a Hari Raya function two weeks after the end of Ramadan that year.

He tried again during Ramadan last year and until today he has managed to stave off the urge to smoke.

"It is not easy for a hardcore smoker to quit. Furthermore, I was a pipe smoker," he said at the clinic's quit smoking session.

For Lofti, the first month of life without smoking was difficult, as the urge to smoke was great, particularly upon seeing others taking a puff of a cigarette.

"It has been five months since I stopped smoking. It is not easy," said Lofti, adding that the first step he took was to hide his smoking pipe.

NEEDS HELP

For former hardcore smoker Zulkiflee Mohd Ramlan, 47, a person does not need any help when he is about to get hooked on the habit, but when he wants to kick the habit, the person needs any help that he can muster.

For Zulkiflee, who stopped smoking two months ago, help came from the counsellor at the IJN clinic.

Zulkiflee started smoking at 14, smoking up to 40 cigarettes a day, and attempted to quit the habit many times but in vain.

"I tried to stop smoking for three years. Each time when the fasting month arrived, I tried to quit the habit but I failed.

"I managed to stop about two months back because I had a heart attack and had to undergo a heart by-pass operation.

"The doctor said I am the most stubborn patient that he has ever treated. Why? One week before the operation, I was allowed to go home with the doctor's instruction not to smoke, but when I reached home, I returned to smoking," he told Bernama.

Zulkiflee underwent a heart by-pass operation at the IJN on Sept 27 last year as three coronary (heart) vessels were found to be blocked.

SELF-IMPOSED NO SMOKING ZONE

Now, aware of the habit's hazardous consequences to health, Zulkiflee has created his own no-smoking zone in order to safeguard the health of his family members.

There is no smoking in front of his children and in his car.

Zulkiflee says he has no choice but to stop smoking as, if he ever needs another heart by-pass operation, his chance of surviving this time is compromised.

"My children are still small, I have no choice but to quit smoking," he said.

He calls on parents to play a primary role in educating their children not to smoke, as prevention is better than cure, and this should start at home.

THREE ATTEMPTS

M. Arumugam, 47, told the Quit Smoking session at the IJN clinic that he had stopped smoking only three days earlier.

Arumugam had stopped smoking after a heart attack in 1994 but returned to the habit because of work stress. Six years later, he underwent a four-hour heart by-pass operation, as three blood vessels in his heart were blocked.

He managed not to smoke after the operation but, with no counselling or assistance, that lasted only three months.

Now, after suffering from gastritis, Arumugam is trying to quit the habit for good, as the doctor has told him that the problem will go away only if he stops smoking.

"The doctor told me to get counselling from IJN's Quit Smoking Clinic," he said, adding that he began by reducing the number of cigarettes he smokes daily.

The cigarettes began to reduce in stages, from 20 to six sticks a day.

Arumugam says he decided to quit smoking for good after returning from a party.

"I do not know the reason that made me to stop my car and dump the cigarette pack as well as my lighter into a drain," he said.

But the urge to return to the habit was great for Arumugam.

The first day after stopping from smoking, Arumugam felt the strong urge to return to the habit.

So, what did he do?

"I made myself busy by walking the dog and going for brisk walks.

"I also refrained from being close to smokers, as the urge will return upon seeing others puff cigarettes," he said.

UP TO 60 STICKS A DAY!

Low Sam Guan, 62, is in the midst of attempting to quit smoking.

So far, he has managed to reduce the number of cigarettes that he smokes to only about six a day.

He began to smoke at the age of 17 and went on until he puffed between 40 and 60 cigarettes a day, spending up to RM600 a day.

Before, he used to buy cigarettes in packets but now he only buys a few a day.

The senior citizen needs to go for a heart by-pass operation but the doctor refused to operate on him, because his lungs are in bad shape.

"My son does not smoke and he gives me a lot of encouragement to quit the habit," says Low, who is among the hardcore smokers who have taken the first step in their effort to quit smoking.

What about the others? Can they do what the other hardcore smokers such as Kali, Lofti, Zulkiflee and Arumugam have done? Or the very least like Low?

When there is a will, there is a way.

Ample Supply Of Mandarin Oranges Cap Prices

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 17 (Bernama) -- The supply of mandarin oranges, a popular item of Chinese New Year celebrations, is more than sufficient this year, and they are being sold at competitive prices.

A Bernama survey at several locations in the federal capital found many temporary roadside stalls have sprouted up this week to cash in on demand for this festive item, which is expected to peak this Friday.

The plentiful supply of mandarin oranges this year is good news for consumers, as they can shop around for the best offers.

KL Fruits Sdn Bhd chairman, Wong Wai Heng said the supply of mandarin oranges this year is sufficient and he is still waiting for orders from traders and individuals.

"The market is quite slow this time, as many spent a lot early this year for their children's schooling.

"I hope orders will pick up this week. There is an abundant supply and the fruits are fresh and sweet," he said.

The company, a wholesaler and supplier of local and imported fruits, is offering mandarin oranges as low as RM28 to RM30 a box, according to the size and grade.

Ka Ka Fruit Shop owner Ah Heng said competition with hypermarkets is a major challenge to small traders.

"At the moment I have sold only 10 boxes but I hope sales will pick up at the last minute when the festival approaches," she said at her shop in Kampung Sri Puchong.

Fruits Garden Klang Valley shop owner Najib Raja Erman said he has been selling mandarin oranges since last month and demand is good.

Najib, 33, said customers can book through Facebook or go to his shop at Jalan Raja Alang, Kampung Baru for the fruit at RM5 per kilogramme for grade A and RM4 per kilogramme for grade C.

A survey at the Chow Kit market found mandarin oranges selling at RM18 a box, which contains about 24 to 30 fruits.

Bantuan Rakyat 1Malaysia (BR1M) Is Distributed Fairly To All

The 2012 Budget promised numerous goodies for the people including the 1Malaysia People's Aid (BR1M) to help low income earners manage with the rising cost of living.

However, some are skeptical over these 'handouts' believing that they are nothing more than a political gimmick to fish votes.

Bernama in this three-part article dwells into how far the RM500 BR1M assistance is justified and whether the people are the real beneficiaries.

This second part is the excerpts from the interview with the Treasury's Deputy Secretary General (Policy) Datuk Dr Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah.

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 16 (Bernama) -- The government's commitment in providing a comfortable life for the people transcends political and communal boundaries.

Even those who live in states ruled by political parties other than Barisan Nasional (BN) are treated equally by the BN government in all respect.

The same goes to the distribution of the BR1M conducted in stages starting from Jan 15.

The BR1M has received both praises and brickbats as it involves a RM2.6 billion allocation and is expected to benefit 5.2 million households, about 80 per cent of the total households in the country.

The Finance Ministry's Deputy Secretary General (Policy) Datuk Dr Mohd Irwan Serigar Abdullah in an interview with Bernama ruled out claims that the RM500 aid under BR1M would be distributed along the political lines.

"In distributing the BR1M, those earning RM3,000 and less qualify for the aid regardless of their race, religion or even their political affiliation. There is no question of favouritism in regards to the distribution of the BR1M," he said.

He pointed out Kedah being a good example because the opposition ruled state has one of the highest number of BR1M recipients.

MULTIPLE EFFECTS

The BR1M is truly meant to help the people tide over the rising cost of living though it is only a one off payment.

"Those earning RM3,000 and below are the ones most affected by the high inflation as they have to bear with higher rental cost, vehicle ownership and others.

"We look at this way, say an household has an average of 4.5 people and we divide it with the country's population of 28 million, we will have 6.2 million households. With 6.2 million of the households getting the BR1M aid, it means almost 80 per cent of the households in Malaysia will be enjoying this benefit.

"This means, the government has helped a staggering 80 per cent of the households in the country in addressing their plight without discriminating anyone," he said.

Apart from this, the government's decision to extend the closing date for the submission of the BR1M forms to 10 Feb, a one month extension, opens the door for more deserving Malaysians to enjoy the aid.

STRINGENT VERIFICATION

Meanwhile, on the possibilities of some irresponsible people capitalising on the BR1M handout, Mohd Irwan Serigar pointed out that ministry is aware of such people and has taken a proactive stand.

There are admittedly vulnerabilities in the whole process especially when the application for the aid is based on 'self-declaration'. There could be those who are earning more than RM3,000 from undeclared sources like rent and etc.

"Normally we look into the gross income. If added with other income from assets and their own salary, those with income exceeding RM3,000 do not qualify.

"However, we are aware that there are some who will try to cheat their way.

That is why we conduct the verification process in stages with the cooperation of related agencies, departments and ministries. "More than 15 agencies are involved in the verification process to verify the information provided by the applicant. The reason why the Inland Revenue Department is our main referral point is because of its comprehensive taxpayers' database," he said.

And for those who cheat, they can be charged in court.

FACING THE CHALLENGES

Distributing BR1M to the people is no easy task and it is made even more difficult by unwarranted accusations on the intentions and the whole distribution process.

Some even questioned the source of the funds for the BR1M especially when looking at the uncertainties looming in global economy and its implications on the national economy.

Other than the challenges in verifying genuine applicants, distributing the forms and the RM500 cash vouchers in the interiors is also a Herculean task.

On whether, the ministry is ready face the backlash from those who failed in their attempt, Mohd Irwan Serigar noted that they could still appeal.

"The government will do what is right. If they are really poor and deserving, there is no reason why they should be denied of this aid," he said ending the interview.

Up to Jan 10, a total of 4,123,713 application for the BR1M aid have been received from all over the nation. From this number, 3,850,668 have been recorded in the data system for verification process with 3,102,054 applications already being approved.

All BR1M applicants will be informed of their application status through post or they can verify through the 1-800-222-500/1-300-88-3010 hotline starting Jan 16.

PLUS To Build Additional Lane On NKVE From Jalan Duta To Shah Alam, Rawang

KUALA LUMPUR, Jan 17 (Bernama) -- In order to reduce traffic congestions along the New Klang Valley Expressway (NKVE), PLUS Malaysia Sdn Bhd (PLUS) will build an additional lane in both directions from Jalan Duta to Shah Alam and Rawang.

PLUS managing director Datuk Noorizah Abd Hamid said the project, which would see the addition of a fourth lane with a length of 35km, was aimed at providing comfort to the road users, especially during peak hours.

"The project is expected to begin in the second quarter of this year and will take two or three years to be fully completed and opened to the public," she told reporters after launching the travel time advisory in conjunction with the Chinese New Year here.

Noorizah said the land survey work along the route had also reached the final stage, but the total cost for the project had yet to be finalised.

"We are in the final process of acquiring the land and designing the road. We can only finalise the cost and open the tender for the project after that," she added.

KUALA LUMPUR – Malaysia has a free judicial body and the verdict of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim’s acquittal proved that the government does not have any influence on the judge’s decision.

Following today’s acquittal of Datuk Seri Anwar Ibrahim, MalatMinister of Information, Communications and Culture, Datuk Seri Dr Rais Yatim said, ““Malaysia has an independent judiciary and this verdict proves that the government does not hold sway over judges’ decisions. The current wave of bold democratic reforms introduced by Prime Minister Najib Razak will help extend this transparency to all areas of Malaysian life.”

“The latest wave would help expand the transparency in all area of life in Malaysia”, he said in a special statement representing the Malaysian government regarding Anwar’s release here today.

The High Court this morning reached a verdict of not guilty towards Anwar for the charges of sodomizing his former personal aide, Saiful Bukhari Azlan.

The court judge, Judge Mohamad Zabidin Mohd. Diah ruled that based on the evidences submitted by the defense team, the court could not be a hundred percent certain of the integrity of the DNA
samples used in the case.

The trial began on February 3 2010 which is approximately two years seven months after Anwar was charged in the Section Court on August 7 2008.

The case took a long time to be resolved following various applications filed by Anwar until many postponements were allowed by the court.

Shahz Jazel Changes Name To Shahrizal For Luck?

KUALA LUMPUR – After almost five years of using the name ‘Shahz Jazel’ in the entertainment industry, the controversial actor finally decided to stick with his real name, ‘Shahrizal’.

Shahrizal or Mohd Shahrizal Jazle Jasmin, 23, announced his new name during the Selamat Pagi Malaysia program at Radio Televisyen Malaysia (RTM1), recently.

According to an entertainment blog, Beautifulnara.com, Shahrizal often had to correct people regarding his name from Shah Jaszle to ‘Shahz Jazel’.

Maybe it was quite hard for fans to say his name and that had made him sad as him name was then made fun of.

Shahrizal admitted that his life changed a little and it is more organized and he cannot deny the fact that using one’s real name could really bring luck.

“They (family) said that using our real name for our career could create better force and I could definitely feel the difference as using the name Shahrizal has definitely made my career much more stable in the future,” he said.

Although fans knew him with the name of ‘Shahz Jazel’ since the beginning of his career, Shahrizal did not have any trouble adapting to the new name.

“Fans are giving good responses.

“I do not regret this decision even though I have been using the name Shahz Jazel for a while in the local entertainment industry,” he added.

His talents can be seen since the day he started his career and this male actor has been featured in numerous local dramas.

But, the actor of the drama, Bunga April, could not escape from controversy as he was gossiped with an actress that is much older than he is, Maria Farida.

Barcode Not Required On Ballot Paper – EC

KUALA LUMPUR – A barcode is not required on the ballot paper to replace the existing serial number, said Election Commission (EC) deputy chairman Datuk Wan Ahmad Wan Omar.

He said the secrecy of the vote was guaranteed with the usage of the serial number as the ballot paper would only be issued to a voter after his or her identity had been checked.

He clarified that the usage of the serial number was to ensure that the total number of ballot papers in a ballot box would be the same with the number detached from the ballot book which had running serial numbers.

“Using serial numbers is easier because should there be a dispute, we can countercheck with the ballot book,” he told Bernama.

He was responding to the proposal by Bukit Panau assemblyman Datuk Abdul Fattah Mahmood yesterday that the serial number on the ballot paper be abolished.

Wan Ahmad said the serial number method was widely used by many countries throughout the world as its was a faster and better means of knowing the total number of voter turnout.

He said political parties in Malaysia should have trust and confidence in the electoral system as it had been used since independence.

Apart from that, he said, the ballot paper was no ordinary paper but imported and printed by Percetakan Nasional Malaysia Berhad in secrecy.

“Even the colour of the paper is secret until the voting day. It is not the same colour for every election,” he said. – BERNAMA

New MyKad with Improved Security available form january 3, 2012

PUTRAJAYA: The National Registration Department (NRD) will be issuing the new MyKad with the latest security features in stages from Jan 3, said NRD director-general Datuk Jariah Mohd Said.

She said the issuing of the new MyKad would begin at the NRD offices in Putrajaya and Shah Alam on Tuesday and would be extended to other branch offices throughout country after Feb 15.

"The new MyKad is more durable as it is made of tougher polycarbonate material as well as a new and longer lasting chip.

'Apart from that, the MyKad has a "ghost image" which uses a new laser technology on the surface to prevent forgery," she told reporters at a media conference here today.

Jariah said NRD was confident the new MyKad would meet international standards as it had improvements over the existing version.

"Members of the public are encouraged to change to the new MyKad but it is not compulsory," she said.

Jariah said NRD branches in other states such as Kluang and Ipoh would be issuing the new MyKad on Jan 10, Johor Bahru (Jan 14), Kuantan (Jan 15), Melaka (Jan 17), Kuching and Kota Bharu (Jan 20), Kuala Terengganu and Penang (Jan 29).

Apart from that, she said the NRD office in Alor Setar would also issue the new MyKad on Feb 2, Miri (Feb 6), Kota Kinabalu and other branches on Feb 7 and branches in the Federal Territory on Feb 15.

"NRD will take one day to issue the latest MyKad in the NRD branches stated.

"Other NRD branches will take 10 working days in the Peninsula and a maximum of 30 days in Sabah and Sarawak," she said. -- BERNAMA

KUALA LUMPUR – Many people were cynical before this when they heard stories about the artists who are not a married couple went on an overseas holiday together and waited if there were rumours to hit the couple upon their return home.

In closing the last week of 2011, we were surprised with controversial pictures of local celebrity, Asyraf Sinclair’s wife, Bunga Cinta Lestari who was reputed to have had a wild celebration at a party recently.

In the pictures published, Bunga Cinta Lestari is seen embracing several men while holding a glass of ‘tea’ and a cigarette between her fingers.

For the record, Asyraf Sinclair married Bunga Cinta Lestari on November 8, 2008 at Masjid Al Bina, Jakarta.

The couple were later blessed with a child, Noah, on September 22 last year and is now 15 months old.

However, the exact date the pictures were taken cannot be ascertained.

“It cannot be ascertained when the pictures were taken, but if it was BCL’s (Bunga Cinta Lestari) latest pictures, then what is Noah Sinclair’s fate who is only a year and three months old?,” said the owner of OhBulan blog.

However, the pictures clearly states the time the pictures were recorded which was around 1.51am, perhaps in Indonesia or any country in the world.

Besides that, Bunga Cinta Lestari had also caused a controversy when pictures of her strolling in Bali in a sexy bikini and thin pyjamas were circulated on the internet in August 2009, a year after married to Asyraf.

The question is, what is Asyraf’s comment regarding his wife’s attitude and appearance?

However, I hope and pray that Asyraf will be smart in controlling the situation and his wife’s attitude and also give appropriate advice to her.

It is not to be a ‘busy body’ or be involved in other people’s domestic problems, I feel that it would be a waste if Asyraf and Bunga Cinta Lestari do not appreciate God’s beautiful creation.

Ariff Alfian Issues| Ariff Alfian Is Afraid To Return To Malaysia

Ariff Alfian Rosli, the Malaysian who had a same-sex wedding in Ireland stated his fear of returning to Malaysia.

In his statement to The Irish Times press today, Ariff Alfian said, he fears for his safety if he returns to Malaysia.

“I fear for my safety however my thoughts are still with my family and friends there. I never wanted this matter to become major news,” he said to the press.

Meanwhile, Ariff Alfian emphasized that he has no intentions to run from his responsibility in settling his tuition fees with Petronas.

He said, he is still in contact with the company regarding the fee repayment amounting to 200,000 pound.

Petronas previously confirmed that Ariff Alfian is their former sponsored student under the Petronas study loan scheme from September 2001 to study A-Level and thereafter further on to degree level in United Kingdom.

However it was terminated based on his results and unsatisfied academic achievement which violates the condition of the loan agreement.

However they claimed that throughout the duration of his studies in Dublin, Ariff Alfian has never attended periodic discussion session with Petronas Student Adviser and did not return any email or telephone calls although many efforts were made to contact him.

“I do not want to run from that responsibility or lat it go,” he remarked.

SHAH ALAM: Former Selangor menteri besar Dr Mohamad Khir Toyo was found guilty by the High Court here today on a charge of obtaining for himself and his wife a valuable property at a consideration he knew was insufficient, four years ago.

Judge Datuk Wira Mohtarudin Baki (now Appeal Court Judge) reached the decision upon finding that the defense had failed to raise a reasonable doubt on the case against Dr Mohamad Khir, 46.

Dr Mohamad Khir was earlier ordered to enter his defence on the charge of obtaining for himself and his wife Datin Seri Zahrah Kechik, 46, two lots of land and a bungalow at No 8&10, Jalan Suasa 7/1L through Ditamas Sdn Bhd director Shamsuddin Hayroni.

The properties were bought at RM3.5 million, in contrast to the price of RM6.5 million paid for it by Ditamas on Dec 23 2004.

Khir toyo sentenced to 12 months jail from today and also ordered for his properties to be confiscated.

The Court allows stay of sentence pending appeal to Court of Appeal.

Dr Mohamad Khir had committed the offence with the knowledge that Shamsuddin had dealings with him in his official capacity as Selangor Menteri Besar at the time.

Dr Mohamad Khir, who is also Sungai Panjang assemblyman, committed the offence at the Selangor Menteri Besar's official residence, Jalan Permata 7/1, Seksyen 7 here on May 29 2007.

Twenty-five prosecution and five defence witnesses testified throughout the proceedings which commenced on June 6.

On Aug 8 Mohtarudin ordered the politician to enter his defence on the charge after the prosecution concluded its case.

Prosecution and defense were led by DPP Abdul Wahab Mohamed and M.Athimulan respectively. --BERNAMA

A WOMAN has given birth to twin boys whose entire bodies are conjoined — except for separate HEADS, it was revealed yesterday.

They have the appearance of a single child with two heads. Doctors said both heads are perfect and identical.

The healthy lads, named Emanoel and Jesus, were born by Caesarean in Anajas, Brazil. They have two brains and two spines but share a heart and other organs.

Both heads are feeding but doctors are unsure if there are two stomachs.

Mother Maria de Nazareis, 25, was said to be delighted with her twins.

Hospital director Neila Dahas said: “The body looks like one normal child.” She ruled out surgery to remove one head, saying there would be “huge moral obstacles”.

She explained: “If both brains are functioning, how do we choose which head to remove?”

It was Brazil’s second “two-headed baby” birth this year. The twins died due to lack of oxygen.

Lately the tale of Ariff Alfian Rosli, the Malaysian student who had a same-sex marriage in Ireland has become a hot topic everywhere.

Generally most condemned him in fact some even threaten Ariff Alfian due to extreme anger over his actions.

I am certain, not much but a little, that this guy is surely ‘scared’ with what has occurred, he himself definitely did not expect the terrible reaction shown by Malaysians especially Muslims for his actions.

Probably after this he would think a 1,000 times before he return to his native country..whereas even before this case was a ruckus he did not come back, let alone when this has exploded.

For those who missed this Ariff Alfian story, this is the background story.

His father, Rosli Harun, 56, recently requested help from Utusan Malaysia to find his son who reputedly was ‘missing’ after his search hit a dead end.

To make matters worse, his son was also reputed to have married a foreign man and several pictures and video of the wedding was also circulated on the internet, including a website bigayweddingproject.com.

The same-sex wedding was believed to have been held in a church overseas and Ariff Alfian was pictured in a black Baju Melayu, complete with a gold samping and tanjak (head dress).

His partner who is estimated be in his late 30s wore a complete black suit normally worn during a Western wedding ceremony.

Ariff Alfian when contacted by Ireland media also denied that he was ‘missing’ and emphasized that he has now migrated to Ireland legally.

Alright, to shorten the story, actually Ariff Alfian does not need to be angry if returns because in Malaysia there is a body who ‘loves and care’ for people like you.

Its name is simple…Bar Council!

For this body, if the country wants to be respected as a democratic country, it must first stop any ‘oppression’ towards the sexual minority group which includes the lesbian, gay, bisexual and transgenders (LGBT).

Since long before the Bar Council wanted the government to act quickly in providing protection to this group by introducing a new law to replace the law which imposed unnecessary control on LGBT individual rights in Malaysia.

They also, for Ariff Alfian’s knowledge, have taken oath that they would not budge from giving continuous support to the Merdeka Sexuality program which was canceled.

If he wants to know, the Merdeka Sexuality program was a program formed to provide moral support to the LGBT group.

Bar Council President, Lim Chee Wee once said that they also felt proud to be a part of the program’s supporters although many opposed because in their opinion, the LGBT group who has been living in
oppressed actually need protection and moral support.

So, wait no more…come back to your family in Malaysia.

Toll discounts for motorists in Christmas Day

KUALA LUMPUR: Discounts and toll rebates of between 5 and 37.5 per cent will be enjoyed by all motorists on Christmas Day this Sunday.

The Malaysian Highway Authority (LLM), in a statement today, said this involves 20 concessionaires and 24 toll highways, including the New North Klang Straits Bypass (NNKSB) which offers a 10 per cent discount for all classes of vehicles from 11pm on Dec 24 until 8am on Dec 25.

Class 1 vehicles plying the North South Expressway (PLUS), North South Central Link (ELITE), Seremban-Port Dickson Highway (SLDH), Kulim-Butterworth Highway (KLBK) and Malaysia-Singapore Second Link Expressway will enjoy a 10 percent discount from Dec 25 to 27.

The Ampang-Kuala Lumpur Elevated Highway (AKLEH), Shah Alam-Kuang Expressway(Guthrie) and the Kemuning-Shah Alam Highway (LKSA) will be offering discountsof 10 per cent for all vehicles from 6am on Dec 25 until 6am on Dec 26. For motorists on other highways, discounts and rebates will begin frommidnight on Dec 24 until 11.59pm on Dec 25.

No more check-in fares for overseas flight-Air Asia

KUALA LUMPUR - AirAsia is abolishing the counter check-in fees for all international flights throughout its route network.

All bookings made on December 22 onwards will be exempted from the RM10 per passenger for counter check-in.

In a statement today, AirAsia Group Chief Executive Officer, Tan Sri Tony Fernandes said the low cost airline had recently also reduced the processing fee for the usage of charge cards during flight bookings from RM8 per guest sector to only RM5 per guest per sector.

The direct debit transaction remains free of charge with seven of their bank partners in Malaysia.

International guests who have pre-paid the counter check-in fees from September 21 to December 21 may obtain a credit shell by contacting customer care via the e-form at http://www.airasia.com/my/en/faqdetailsform.html.

Arif Alfian who was contacted by Ireland media, IrishTimes.com, firmly stated that he is a Muslim, did not convert to any other religion and remains a Muslim until the end of his life.

“I did not convert another religion, what was reported was extremely contrary to the real fact. I was born as a Muslim, I am still a Muslim and will remain a Muslim until I die. There is nothing that can shake my faith,” he said to the media today.

Arif Alfian also explained that he had not contacted his parents in Malaysia for several years now following a misunderstanding between them, however he admits that he frequently contact his other siblings.

“I had a little misunderstanding with my father in 2009…until I was reported missing, I still did not contact him, but I often contact other family members,” he said.

Arif Alfian’s father, Rosli Harun, 56, recently requested the help of Utusan Malaysia to find his son who was reputedly ‘missing’ after his search came to a dead end.

To make matters worse, his son was also said to have married a foreign man and several pictures and a video of the inverse marriage were circulated on the internet, including the website bigayweddingproject.com.

The same-sex marriage ceremony was believed to be held in a church overseas and Arif Alfian was pictured in a black Baju Melayu, complete with a gold samping and tanjak (head dress).

His partner who is assumed to be in his late 30s wore a complete black suit which was normally worn during a Western wedding ceremony.

Arif Alfian when contacted by the Ireland media also denied that he was ‘missing’ and emphasized that he currently has migrated to Ireland legally.

“I am not missing. The Ireland authorities know that I live in this country (Ireland) legally. The Malaysian Embassy also knows and realize that I am living here legally,” he said.

Besides that, Arif Alfian also explained that he indirectly attracted the society’s attention and did not want to spark controversial or problems, especially his family in Malaysia.

"The prime minister said the government did not want underprivileged people to be denied access to information, and added that the "njoi" package was designed to provide knowledge, entertainment and education to 50,000 households, including in Sabah and Sarawak.

Najib said he was most impressed with the Astro package because among the 37 radio and television channels were those devoted to education, particularly for school children.

"We will have to investigate because even people of other countries wear a 'tengkolok' (headgear). Let's see," he told reporters after attending the convocation at Universiti Kebangsaan Malaysia (UKM), here.

A newspaper Saturday reported that a website had published the same-sex marriage of a man in Malay attire, complete with headgear, to a Caucasian in a church abroad.

On the two prayers at one congregation on Fridays at several mosques in Terengganu, Jamil Khir said the matter should be handled with prudence by the state Islamic religious council.

According to reports, the BMW was reported stolen in front of a shopping mall in Wangsa Maju.
In the incident that occurred around 3.55pm, the victim and her mother was said to have just arrived at a beauty salon owned by the family at the shopping mall to prepare for an event launching ceremony of her latest film, ‘Penanggal’ at Bukit Bintang.

“Fasha was not at any filming and she spent most of her time managing her salon while preparing for the event.

“However, as she was getting ready to leave, she found out that her car was missing. Becoming panicked, she even arrived late for the event,” it said.

Sentul Police Chief, Assistant Commissioner Zakaria Pagan when contacted confirmed that he received the report made by the actress.

“Based on the report that we have received, the car was parked at the side of Jalan Delima near Wangsa Walk and it was locked.

“As she was heading back to the car, victim found that the car was missing. The case is being investigated under Section 379 Penal Code,” he said.

Recently, a father had requested Utusan Malaysia to find his son, Ariff Alfian Rosli he had lost contact for the last three years.

His son is a medical student in Dublin, Ireland.

The Royal Malaysian Navy (TLDM) retired officer who had served for 31 years, Rosli Haron, 56, had almost given up in the search for his second son from all his four children after trying all sorts of things including lodging reports to the police, Wisma Putra, Malaysian Embassy in Ireland and Ireland Embassy here.

Concerned with the matter, the Chairman of UMNO Youth Bureau of Community Complaints, Datuk Muhd. Khairun Aseh had promised that they will take off to United Kingdom (UK) this December 23 to meet Foreign UMNO Club in UK and Ireland to look for Ariff Alfian.

Muhd. Khairun said, as for now, his side are still collecting a few information regarding Ariff Alfian so that the search could be done.

But everything was later confirmed that Ariff Alfian is safe there.

The Malaysian Embassy in Ireland, Datuk Ramli Naam said that his side had known that Ariff Alfian has been in the country since he started studying.

However, he said, the embassy and Wisma Putra cannot reveal any further information regarding the student who was formerly sponsored by Petronas as it is part of the Dublin Personal Data Protection Act.

But what is more surprising is that the student was said to have been married with a man named Jonathan there.

The website that was believed to be a huge support for gay weddings had uploaded 15 pictures as the ceremony went along.

Few of the pictures include the image where the couple took a group picture as they celebrate the marriage.

There were also two other picture of the foreign man getting ready before the marriage ceremony began.

According to the statement that was mentioned along with the pictures that was believed to be uploaded on September 20, the couple was their first client for the website.

In this matter, Ariff Alfian’s family is the one who are under huge pressure.

As the their son is enjoying his moment with a man, the parents may be crying now.

Why wouldn’t they cry? They had taught him just about everything that he even managed to study abroad has now humiliate them.

In this matter, writer urge that we should not put the blame on the parents…no parents in this world ever want their child to be like this.

Writer would not know what to do being in his parents’ shoe as this is just something demeaning not just to our religion, but also to our race and nation.

This right is somehow seen to legalizing just about anything so that it could fulfill their lust.

Maybe in the future, they would want to have the rights for incest or even having sex with animals.

That is why rights should be respected and no one can stop it.

Pesara pegawai Tentera Laut Diraja Malaysia (TLDM) yang telah berkhidmat selama 31 tahun, Rosli Haron, 56, kini buntu mengesan anak kedua daripada empat beradik itu setelah mencuba pelbagai usaha termasuk membuat laporan kepada polis, Wisma Putra, Kedutaan Malaysia di Ireland dan Kedutaan Ireland di sini, dalam tempoh tersebut.

Malah, katanya, dia dan isteri, Kamariah Hashim, 55, telah lapan kali ke Dublin dan Universiti College Dublin (UCD) untuk mencari anaknya itu yang merupakan ketua pengawas dan tokoh pelajar cemerlang Sekolah Menengah Kebangsaan (SMK) Seksyen 5 Wangsa Maju pada 2001.

Rosli memberitahu, Ariff, 28, yang cemerlang dalam Sijil Pelajaran Malaysia (SPM) mendapat tajaan pinjaman boleh ubah daripada Petronas untuk melanjutkan pengajian dalam bidang perubatan di United Kingdom (UK).

"Ariff kemudian dihantar ke UK untuk membuat A Level dan pada 2003 dia dihantar ke UCD untuk melanjutkan pengajian, walaupun dalam kontrak asal anak saya sepatutnya ke UK sahaja.

"Pada mulanya saya sangsi kerana Petronas tidak mempunyai pejabat penasihat pelajar di Dublin seperti mana Jabatan Perkhidmatan Awam (JPA) dan Majlis Amanah Rakyat (Mara).

"Namun Ariff tetap meneruskan pengajian di UCD untuk mengikuti pengajian praklinikal dari 2003 hingga ke 2005 seterusnya klinikal (2005-2008)," katanya yang datang ke pejabat Utusan Malaysia di sini hari ini.

Menurutnya, meskipun demikian, Ariff tidak dapat menamatkan pengajiannya pada waktu ditetapkan iaitu pada 2008 dan perlu menyambung beberapa semester di universiti terbabit.

Malangnya, kata Rosli, Petronas enggan menaja perbelanjaan Ariff yang menelan kos lebih 38,000 Euro (RM160,000) setahun pengajian akademik dan kos sara hidup manakala dia pula tidak mempunyai cukup wang untuk menampungnya.

"Berikutan masalah kewangan, saya sarankan Ariff agar menyambung pengajiannya di Malaysia tetapi dia enggan kerana berazam hendak lulus dari UCD dan bermula daripada situ hubungan kami terjejas.

"Sehingga sekarang, saya dan isteri gagal bertemu Ariff dan menghubunginya walaupun telah mencuba pelbagai usaha sejak tiga tahun lalu," katanya.

Tambah malang, Rosli memberitahu, dia kini berhadapan dengan saman pihak Petronas untuk menuntut wang pengajian Ariff berjumlah lebih RM890,000 daripadanya sebagai penjamin pertama.

"Mana saya ada cukup wang untuk menjelaskan wang sebanyak itu dengan pencen saya. Sudahlah kami sekeluarga menderita kerana kehilangan anak, kami kini berhadapan dengan saman pula," ujarnya.

Menurutnya, berdasarkan maklumat diterimanya, dia begitu bimbang Ariff terjebak dengan perkara negatif termasuk pergaulan bebas dan murtad.

Dia juga ingin menasihatkan ibu bapa yang mempunyai anak di luar negara supaya mengambil iktibar dan berhati-hati dengan insiden menimpa keluarganya selain berharap pihak agensi terlibat atau pertubuhan bukan kerajaan (NGO) dapat membantu menjejaki anak kesayangannya itu.

Chased teen Danny O'Shea murdered near his Canning Town home

Police have named a teenager who was stabbed to death on the street he lived on after being chased by a group in east London.

Danny O'Shea, 18, was found by officers who were called to Gill Avenue in Canning Town on Friday evening. Ambulance crews attended but he was pronounced dead at the scene.

A post-mortem examination found he died of a stab wound to the neck.

Police have launched a murder inquiry. No arrests have been made.

KUALA LUMPUR: People's Party Store management 1Malaysia (KR1M) ordered all 1Malaysia product suppliers send their products for laboratory tests periodically.

According to a statement issued here KR1M, tests for all 250 products 1Malaysia which cost RM300, 000 will be borne by the supplier and the manufacturer itself.

"It will not be funded by the government or NGOs or KR1M management," the statement said. According KR1M, labeling and content are two different issues that can occur in any of the products, especially new products enter the market and must be corrected and improved, and is not classified as "not safe" or harmless if used.

Saturday, the Ministry of Health announced that 13 products 1Malaysia fails to comply with Food Regulations 1985 and it had taken appropriate action.

Product involved is fresh milk, condensed milk, sweetened condensed creamer, oyster sauce, fruit jam, tinned chicken curry, mango cordial, ghee, nuts, peanut butter cream, peanut butter Crunchy, crispy peanut butter and sardine fish in sauce tinned tomatoes (155 grams).
